To Our Valued Customers: Eastern Connection has invested substantial money and resources to create industry leading technology, allowing our customers a seamless electronic exchange of shipment information to and from our computer systems. We offer our customers multiple solutions for uploading their daily shipment information including: Stand alone systems, 3rd Party Integration, and Web based platforms. All of these options increase the productivity of both the shipper and Eastern Connection, and have replaced the necessity of completing a paper Bill of Lading (BOL) for each package. Accordingly, and in conjunction with EC’s ongoing effort to decrease our footprint on the environment, we are moving towards the elimination of the paper BOL. As an interim step in this initiative, as of May 9th, 2011 EC will begin charging $ .75 for each Ground Service BOL and $ .50 for each Priority Service BOL that requires manual entry. I encourage all current users of paper BOL’s to either contact their Account Executive directly, or our IT department at 781-926-7254, to determine the best alternative for your specific requirements.
