I. General Overview:
The I/C Coordinator will act as a liaison between management and independent contractors from designated time-service facility management and scheduled routed work accounts.
II. Responsibilities: - Assures all work and routed schedules for daily and weekly assignments are designed to provide the most effective and efficient service possible.
- Maintains operational control of all transportation services to time-service accounts, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures that affect cost control, profitability and quality performance.
- Selects, trains and monitors all independent contractors assigned to time-service accounts.
- Works with management and sales staff to develop and implement new delivery programs.
- Ensures day-to-day compliance with the requirements and parameter of time-service contracts, which includes operational control and maintenance of necessary logs, records, reports and manifests.
- Conducts initial orientations and monitors on-the-job and back-up training of newly assigned independent contractors.
- Reviews all service reports and provides management with recommendations and next steps.
- maintains and updates communications equipment records in corporate database which includes processing and monitoring the distribution (radios, pagers, Nextel) and follow-through on equipment contracts.
III. Qualifications/Skills: - Bachelors Degree or comparable transportation industry experience.
- Experience working with independent contractors.
- Excellent communication and management skills.
- Dispatch and distribution experience mandatory.
- Dispatch software experience a must; Knowledge of Red Prairie software a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Able to juggle several tasks under pressure in a deadline oriented environment; excellent time management and organizational skills.
